Currently working on the creation of history, Vladimir Putin is an outlined figure lately. He’s emerged as the world’s most important and dangerous leader. He’s the mastermind behind Russian invasion in Ukrainian territories.
Vladimir Putin was born on 1st October 1952 in St Petersburg, Russia. He’s the only child to his parents because before Putin was born his parents lost their two sons. His father, Vladimir Spiridonovich Putin, worked in a metal factory. His mother, Maria Ivanovna Shelomova, was a homemaker and did odd jobs as well.
Having both the parents working he had to fight himself against the bullying he faced from his neighborhood children. Also Putin lived under the Nazi influenced era. In World War II his father, being a native, was sent to fight for the country and was severely wounded. His mother almost died because of starvation.
The Vladimir family lived in a suburb along with two families. Therefore the living conditions were not supportive and good enough for a comfortable life. Putin did not have leisure in his childhood instead he faced bullying, starvation, fights, and parental trauma. The age where children play and enjoy, he was going through several unhealthy things altogether.
On the contrary, something good is always there, so has happened with Putin. He met people who guided him, became his mentors and showed him the right path. He also learnt judo, since he was self dependent for the neighbor fights against bad boys group and bully, and excelled the field. At the age of sixteen he was a top notch player in sambo. Sambo is a combination of Judo and Wrestling in Russia.
He was a studious child and with time he displayed his talents and aimed for a well known high school. He attended School 281, which is a prestigious high school. Only toppers and perfect graders were accepted there. It was the only institution in Russia which specialized in chemistry and the subject of Putin’s interest. He also learnt liberal arts and biology. Putin also worked at school’s radio station.
After being graduated from Leningrad State University, in 1975, Putin was offered a job in KGB, the security force of former Soviet Union. He was the one among hundred students of his class to be chosen for KGB. Attracted towards spy movies in his teenage he wanted to work in KGB since his teen years, hence he found him dream job. He served 15 years of his life to the KGB , specifically six years in Dresden, East Germany, where her disguised as Mr. Adamov, the director of a social and cultural club. In 1991, he himself quit from KGB to join politics.
Initially he worked under Anatoly Sobchak, the mayor of St. Petersburg, and eventually in 1994 he gained the position of Deputy Mayor. Putin worked on the development of city infrastructure, building highways, telecommunication services, hotels in order to attract foreign companies for investment. In 1996 Putin was offered to join Victor, since the defeat in mayoral campaign of Anatoly Sobchak, but Putine rejected the offer.
In 1999 he achieved the post of Secretary of Security Council, a body that advises the president on matters of foreign policy, national security, and military and law enforcement. In 1999 August, Yeltsin appointed Putin for the post of president. Many were against this decision but they couldn’t change the very fact.
On New Year’s Eve 1999, Yeltsin unexpectedly resigned from the post of president and named Putin as acting President. Therefore, Putin received his New Year gift a day before. Being a KGB agent his identity and background was kept secret which raised many questions among the Western people.
“Freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, freedom of the press, the right to private property—these basic principles of a civilized society will be protected,” stated Putin in his first Presidential speech. He also replaced some members in the cabinet including Yeltsin’s relatives and close loyal.
Among the field of eleven candidates Putin was Russians elected Putin in 2000. He was re-elected in 2004 with more that 70 percent of the votes.
In 2012 also Putin had his throne back with 60 percent after the decision of extending presidential terms from four years to six years. Hence his political career continued to expand and his “Raajneeti” is being shown to the whole world.
Talking about his current private life Vladimir Putin keeps his private life low key and secret from the outside world. Putin lives in an Italian architectural style palace namely “Putin’s Palace” on the Black Sea coast near Gelendzhik, Krasnodar Krai, in Russia. He started the construction of this elegant villa in 2005 itself. Putin’s first wife was Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Ocheretnaya. They tied the knot in 1984 but in 2014 separate their ways.
The couple had two lovely daughters. Mariya Putina is the eldest daughter born on 28 April 1985. She’s a Russian pediatric endocrinologist. Katerina Tikhonova is the younger daughter born on 31st August 1986. She’s a Russian scientist, manager, and former acrobatic dancer. The reason for their divorce was Putin being a workaholic.
His ex wife stated that they merely see each other. He works a lot and gives no hours to his family. After his divorce Putin did not marry someone else since work is his first love so he’s single and working hard upon his political career.
A mysterious secret has been revealed some FSB officer that Putin has diagnosed with aggressive liver cancer and have only three years to live. In Newsweek also it was stated by American intelligence that Putin was treated for “Advanced cancer”.
Recently it was highlighted in the news that Putin’s bodyguards collect his urine and defecates (poop) whenever he is abroad or on foreign trips. It is assumed that they do so as to not to let others know about his illness. Altogether Vladimir Putin is the current President of Russia. Faced many ups and downs in his early life, he made himself an extreme leader and influential. He loves his work. One has many lessons to learn from him and from his political career.
